THE VERDUGO HILLS ARCHERY CLUB

Our club has much to offer the archer and is considered by many to be one of the best FOUR STAR ranges in Southern California. It is comprised of multiple courses including a full service practice area, an unmarked yardage 3-D range, a marked yardage - twenty-eight target field/hunter/animal range, picnic/restroom facilities plus ample parking. All of this, coupled with the surrounding landscape, makes for a pleasurable shooting experience.

Verdugo archers offers a combination unmarked 3D animal and NFAA marked yardage paper animal shoot on the second Sunday of each month. The fourth Sunday of each month is reserved for the field/hunter NFAA qualifier round. It is during this round that handicaps are established and maintained.

Verdugo archers is also able to offer its members an indoor shooting facility located at the Sun land Park Gymnasium. Here, we are able to hold our indoor league each Wednesday evening. The rounds vary and include the modified Flint Round, Freeman Animal Round, NFAA Indoor Round, and the Vegas 3-Spot Round.

Verdugo archers also hosts two invitational tournaments each year. The first which takes place on the first Sunday in March is our Wildwood Unmarked 3D Animal shoot. It is a one arrow shoot consisting of 42 targets. Our other and longest standing shoot is held on the first Sunday in November which is our famous Daze of Verdugo triangle novelty shoot. It is a 28 target marked yardage shoot using 3 arrows per target. For those of you who have never shot one of our triangle targets, you are in for a pleasant surprise.

We even have a monthly newsletter which publishes upcoming club events, shoot results, insights into bow tuning, and other archery related subjects.

The course is basically intact. WE have a couple of new gullies and creeks flowing but the butts seem aok. Number 18, the hardest ;hit last storm, is ok. Mother Nature decided to be kind to us and rerouted her watershed to the slightly away from the target to the right ( south)..There are several new creeks flowing all around 18 & 19 but no real damage. The lower practice area is ok. Wet, but ok. The parking lot is now a new bass pond and again another 2 or 3 inches of new mud. I'll enclose  some pictures  they are in .zip format so you'll need to use winzip or some other compression/decompression tool to unpack the photos
